Ramzan Celebrations in Jama Masjid – Old Delhi – 2016 version

You will find stalls selling Biryanis on every nook and corner..

These pictures were shot last night and just posted by a fellow Foodiye –  Subhashis Basu. Even though these are from last night itself, however not much has changed about this Bazaar, which is at least a few centuries old.

Hopefully these would inspire to venture into those lanes, try all the good food and share the pictures on Foodiye.com .. 🙂

Timings : 7:30 pm to 2-3 AM.

Nearest Metro station : Chawri Bazaar – get out from gate no. 5, walk through the actual Chawri Bazaar towards Jama Masjid till you reach the back side of the grand mosque. The road with form a T junction, take the right turn from there keep following the road till you see a proper entry gate to the mosque on your left had side. This bazaar also referred to as Matia Mahal or Gali Kebabiya would be on your right.

Alternatively you can also enter the lanes that takes into Churi Walan from Chawri Bazaar itself – which would have its own charms – and leads you straight into heart of things at Matia Mahal.

Asking around for the names written above would be a good option – there always would be a rickshaw puller to tell you what street to take and what direction to head.
