EAT, chill and pamper yourself silly at uber luxurious Fairmont Jaipur #FoodTrippin’

This tasteful contemporary-meets-classic hotel is a haven of tranquility and relaxation and if you want to just EAT, chill and pamper yourself silly then Fairmont Jaipur is great option to indulge & splurge!

A palatial hotel that combines the glorious past with the modern-day comforts in the lap of serene Aravalli Hills on the outskirts of Jaipur- a city I simply love.

The architecture, decor & food is the amalgamation of the Rajput & Mughal ascetics & sensibilities which is apparent in the showering of rose petals at the entry, intricate frescoes or be it the many artifacts in the hotel – every inch of the space is about royalty, refinement & luxury.

The entire space showcases the finest craftsmanship of the county be it, the vintage shekhawati style furniture or carved silver pots or the rich Mughal style upholstery.

The classic four poster beds, walk in bathroom with gigantic stone carved bath tub, arched windows overlooking the Aravallis {Do ask for the pool facing room view} will make you time travel in history & the hotel staff leaves no effort in making you feel like royalty with personalized attention & service! One afternoon when I returned to my room, I found a peacock feather bookmark in my book which i had left on the bedside <3 For me this little gesture speaks volumes about the attention to detail & service.

And if all this luxury is not enough then you may choose to stay on their exclusive gold floor which is literally an exclusive hotel within the hotel with a special gold lounge to chill & access the private terrace apart from various princely privileges!

Like all food lovers, I decide hotel’s worth by how awesome is the food & the variety of dining options. Though they have only one regular restaurant but the elaborate menu & lip smacking food makes up for it.

Zoya the all day restaurant serves the world cuisine but we were blown by their Indian food especially the Rajasthani dishes – being from a mutton connoisseur family I can assure you that  the lal maas is one of the finest that you would have. Do try their Rajasthani Thali which has dal baati chorma, sev paratha and plethora of traditional dishes. The space also serves a very elaborate breakfast buffet which is truly international in its spread having a lovely choice of cold cuts, cheese, baked items and live cooking sections.

One of the evenings we also enjoyed a high tea at their tea lounge Anjum or you may choose to enjoy some drinks at their old world styled  super classy bar Aza. The bar also has a Cigar Diwan for people who enjoy the fine things in life. We missed dining at their Indo Persian restaurant Zarin which is only open for dinners on weekends. I would definitely love to go back for those kebabs & Iranian Biryanis. I have been told that it is the only Persian restaurant in the county.

The in room dining service & food is fantastic which will make it difficult for you to get out of your bed! My two cents, stick to the Indian food section and make most of the brilliant Rajasthani food options on offer, having said that the pizzas, pasta & desserts were equally awesome though the oriental food can do with lot of improvement.

The property is ideal for weekend gateway though I think to truly enjoy this palace you need atleast 4 days to soak in the grandeur & pamper yourself. There are loads of activities to indulge in and a special activity room to keep the kids & toddlers entertained. And if you love stories about architecture & craftsmanship like me, then ask for a show around of the hotel which will give you in-depth knowledge about the Mughal & Rajputana times.

The very famous spa is ideal to pamper the frayed nerves and if you are foodie, do try their intense muscle release massage due to which I  managed to weigh exactly 1.8 kgs lighter despite gobbling all the rich food.

What I also appreciated about the place was a dedicated & segregated area for the weddings & convention rooms since the hotel is idea for conferences & big fat destination weddings.

Located just 30 mins away from the main city, you can easily step out to savour all the Jaipur special foods & shop those Rajasthani knick knacks!
